Conor Moore on stage on Saturday evening.

Conor Moore brought his hit stage show to Mullingar Arts Centre at the weekend for three sold out nights.

The comedian, who has earned worldwide acclaim for his razor sharp impersonations of some of the sporting world’s most famous names, modified his show for his hometown audience and, boy, did it go down a storm.

There were references to the fleadh and Enoch Burke, while his clubmates from Mullingar Shamrocks showed their acting chops during a three-part pre-recorded sketch featuring three of Conor’s best loved GAA impersonations, Davy Fitz, Anthony Daly and Ger Loughnane, who were tasked with saving ‘Ballyjaysus GFC’ from relegation to Junior B.

One of the loudest laughs at all three shows came near the end of each night when Conor did an uncannily accurate impersonation of one of Mullingar’s best known sons, businessman Millie Walsh.

If the success of last weekend’s shows are anything to go by, Conor will be bringing his stage shows back to his hometown for many years to come.
