Kamalika Ranasingha is the owner of and the smiling face behind Multyfarnham Cookery School. Kamalika grew up on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, and has been living in Ireland for 20 years now.

Explaining how her business operates, she says: "At Multyfarnham Cookery School we do lots of different classes for adults and children, team building events and parties. Our theme nights are Asian, Italian, Spanish, hands-on bread making, and more.

"We work around culinary development and educating different people from all walks of life to be able to cook with confidence."

Kamalika’s lifelong passion for cooking began in her grandmother’s kitchen, and was later nourished in her mother’s bakery and restaurant.

She trained and qualified as a chef, and has won many culinary awards while travelling in different countries with her work.

Her award winning continues, as Multyfarnham Cookery School has won ‘cookery school of the year’ three times.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, she started offering online classes and has now built an audience in that medium, "something that would have never happened if not for the situation we were all in. She also produced her first cookery book, ‘Kamalika Recipes With Love’.

"Food is like fashion – it changes – and you have to do something unique to stand out," says Kamalika. "Also, in business personality matters a lot.

"Finally, no matter how difficult it is to achieve your dream, keep focus do not give up.

"I greatly appreciate all our customers for supporting our cookery school all through the years."
