WATCH: Horan performs in the White House

Niall Horan joined President Joe Biden, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and a host of other luminaries in the White House yesterday for the annual St Patrick's Day celebration in Washington DC.

Horan performed a number of songs, including his new single 'Heaven', before finishing with the Irish folk classic, 'Spancil Hill'.

At the end of the first song, Horan joked: “I’m not nervous, you are”, before adding: “I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared in my life.”

“Thanks very much for having me here. As a proud Irishman who travels the world, it’s a major honour for me to be here."

After his performance, President Biden praised the Mullingar native.

“It’s amazing what song does, and you do it so well. Come back anytime,” he told him.

Biden also joined Horan for a video message in which the singer wished his fans a happy St Patrick's Day.
