Busy ICA Federation meeting in Westmeath

Liz Brady won the Simnel Cake competition the most recent Westmeath ICA Federation meeting and will progress to the National competition in An Grianán. The cakes were judged by Bernie Mulligan

Brotenstown/Ballinea were the hosts of the most recent meeting of Westmeath Federation of the ICA.

Sympathies were expressed to the family of Noreen Concannon, who was a member of the Tang Guild, and to Bridie McCormack on the death of her mother. May they rest in peace.

Horseleap/Streamstown Guild won the table quiz and will represent the county in An Grianán in April.

The Spring Conference will be held in the Galway Bay Hotel, on May 11. Helen O’Gorman, the Westmeath president, will speak on the ICA’S recommendation for free childcare for National School children. Any member wishing to attend must register with Eventbrite.

Walk with Women Worldwide will be held on April 29. Westmeath Federation hope to hold their walk later in the year.

Brotenstown/Ballinea Guild have started playing PickleBall and are taking part in a Healthy Eating programme, including exercises.

Mullingar Guild will hold a Coffee Morning in the Annebrook Hotel on 2nd March, 2023., in aid of those who suffered from the recent Earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

A representative from Citizens Advice visited the Horseleap/Streamstown Guild. They also visited the National Concert Hall to see the Sound of Music and had a day out in Galway. They are starting Pole Walking sessions in March and some of the members joined the Boles sessions in Ballymore for a few weeks.

An Grianán has allocated the third weekend in September to the Westmeath Guilds for classes.

The next meeting of the Westmeath Federation will be hosted by the Castlepollard Guild. It will be the AGM and will be held on April 25.
