A celebration of women at WCPM

Women's Community Projects, Mullingar celebrated International Women's Day with a morning of motivation and music. The registered charity organisation, set up by Sr Finbarr Breslin in 1985 welcomed four special guest speakers and a musician for an event attended by over 100 people.

The event, largely made possible by the generous sponsorship of many local businesses, was a great success and the team were delighted with the turn out despite the wintry weather.

Aisling Mortell Beglan, Training and Education Coordinator, organised the event.

Training and Education Coordinator, and one of the organisers of the event, Aisling Mortell-Beglan opened the proceedings, followed by motivational speeches from Susan McGowan of Ashen and Cloud, local author Lorraine Murphy, entrepreneur Mairin Gallagher and Mullingar Mayor, Hazel Smyth.

Music was provided by Kathryn Nea.

Music was provided by Kathryn Nea while guests mingled and sampled refreshments kindly sponsored by David Smyth Catering and Cake 'N' Bake. A raffle held on the day raised over €300. The team at WCPM would like to thank all the local businesses that supported their event and raffle.
