Kingdom of Midhe Tourism Network meeting next week

The next meeting of the Kingdom of Midhe Tourism Network takes place this Thursday, March 30, at 7.30pm in the Crover House Hotel, County Cavan.

Kingdom of Midhe secretary Bartle D’Arcy said: “We’re extremely grateful to Crover House for the opportunity to host our next meeting in one of the region’s finest venues. The location of Lough Sheelin in the counties of Westmeath, Meath and Cavan perfectly sums up our objective of bringing this region together under a single highly marketable identity as the ancient Kingdom of Midhe.”

“By bringing the unique history, culture, landscape and natural amenities together, in combination with the welcome and fantastic tourism and leisure facilities on offer, the Kingdom of Midhe brand has the means to open the gates to large scale local and overseas tourist opportunities for the region.”

Chris Murphy, Kingdom of Midhe chairperson, said the group have held a number of meetings with stakeholders throughout the region in recent months, and they invite all local enterprises and businesses with an interest in the tourism sector to join them at Crover House on Thursday, “to see the real potential the region holds”.

“We’re now in the process of formalising our network into a viable entity that will support and promote a diverse community of tourism operators across the three counties of Westmeath, Cavan and Meath.

“Our network will work closely with established county based groups and Fáilte Ireland regional marketing brands of Ireland’s Ancient East and Hidden Heartlands and nationally with Tourism Ireland. Exciting times lie ahead as we shine a light on the less well known, but incredibly sellable goods and services on offer in the Kingdom of Midhe.”

All are welcome to the meeting and further information is available from the secretary bartledarcy@gmail.com.
