Mullingar student wins Barley Prize for Excellence

Nicole Bawle from Mullingar has graduated from DCU in Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Nursing (General), and won the Ms Barley Prize for Excellence in Clinical Practice.

The prize was established in honour of Josephine Bartley, the first director of nursing at Beaumont Hospital, and in recognition of her commitment to student nurse education.

The clinical nurse managers and clinical placement coordinators nominate intern student nurses, and Nicole received the largest number of nominations.

Nicole’s family and friends are “super proud” of her achievements and her parents said her two grandmothers, who have passed on, would be delighted for her.
