St Finian’s students selected for interviews at Goethe Institut

Three students from St Finian’s College, Mullingar are among the 15 selected nationally to present themselves for interviews at the German embassy this month.

John McHale, St Finian’s principal, received the news from the State Examinations Commission before Easter, and he, the senior students concerned and the staff are delighted.

The German Embassy awards scholarships each year to a small number of Irish students based on their achievements in the Junior Cert German examination, and the fact that St Finian’s have three students had been selected for German interviews in April is a wonderful achievement.

The accompanying photos show the students, Zofia Bielicka, Maeve Ashamar Hora and Sadie Mitchell, with their teachers Kathy Jameson and Esther Beggan and deputy principal Aisling Ryan.

All at the school wish them well as they prepare for their interviews and language tests in April in the Goethe Institut in Dublin.
