Capt Paddy and Lucky get their own website

Capt Paddy and Lucky, the aviation bears who are fundraising for two very special charities, the LauraLynn Foundation and Dogs Trust Ireland, now have their very own dedicated website aviationireland.ie

You can interact through the map, read their blogs, read about our chosen charities and use the direct link to the JustGiving pages.

For anyone who has not been following Capt Paddy T Bear and Lucky's adventures thus far, the pair have been raising money for the two charities since the start of the year.

By taking to the skies, logging flights, aircraft types and Pilots-in-Command, and their unique logbooks, along with the bears themselves, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder at the end of the year.

Behind the fundraising initiative is local man Jason Phelan who works with the Irish Aviation Authority in flight operations.

"This website has very generously been gifted to us by Brendan Digney who has also offered us some incredible support coming up later in April," says Jason Phelan.

"The biggest thank you must go to Anna, who has worked tirelessly on the website that became a personal pet project. We understand Anna has loved every minute of creating the website and we love her even more for this pawtastic contribution," Jason continued.

"It's through incredible support like this that drives our challenge and it is overwhelming to be blessed with such magnificent continued support."

Vist to LauraLynn

Capt Paddy and Lucky paid a visit to the LauraLynn children’s hospice recently, where they met with the community fundraising executive and staff to discuss the incredible work they do and how the bears' fundraising and awareness efforts are making a difference.

"I was personally overwhelmed at the story behind the founding of the Hospice and to also learn that Lauralynn is the only children's hospice in Ireland," said Jason.

"We were absolutely delighted to talk about our adventures and the exciting plans ahead," continued Jason. "We would like to thank Cathy and all the staff for hosting us and we look forward to working closely with Lauralynn Children's Hospice throughout the rest of the Aviation Ireland Challenge.

The pair also attended the Birr Breakfast Fly-In, where they met Ray Kennedy from RTÉ News, pilots they have flown with, members of the Irish Air Corps and future pilots.

"We had an interview with Squawk 7000 and a proposal that will elevate our awareness and fundraising campaign to new heights," adds Jason.

In the coming weeks, Capt Paddy and Lucky will visit the Microlight Trade Show at Popham Airfield, UK and in May they will spend several weeks with Ryanair adding many more European destinations to their logbooks.
