Crane Bird host exhibition ‘The Realm of Connection’

Crane Bird Art School is hosting an exhibition of work by artists of all ages at the Westmeath County Council Atrium space.

On display will be original artworks, traditional painting styles, and innovative pieces representing mythological Ireland.

The exhibit is designed to celebrate creativity in the community, and the range of styles re-affirms the core value of Crane Bird – that art is for everyone to create and enjoy.

Children who take classes at Crane Bird Art School have created works to represent a famous Irish tale, while teachers and local artists from All Life Arts, an community group of artists will be present at the launch, on Tuesday May 16 (5.30-7.30pm).

Aida Cassiano, owner of Crane Bird Art School, promised surprises on the opening night, and invited all to hear the stories behind the paintings and the exhibition theme directly from the artists.

There will be poetry readings as well.

Artists include Lulie Poilin, a writer with a passion for painting; Kenneth McDermott, who creates metal sculptures as well as paintings; Adrian Masterson, who has a long history in all creative fields; Janet Rowley, with a signature style that explores the theme of the human connection; and Susan Brennan, a painter who uses texture and pallet knives to create her works.

Susan is also a poet who will be doing a reading, along with Lulie, on the opening night.

Aida said: “As an artist I want to create connections. I want to create a bridge that can link artists and community together to create moments of joy and creative experiences.”

Crane Bird Art School was founded at the beginning of 2017 to inspire and nurture artists of all ages and abilities, and provide creative and quality learning experiences to awaken the passion and promote engagement in the arts.

All Life Arts - Artists Community Group came together to support one other and to increase public awareness of art in Mullingar and the surrounding areas through various media and public participation.
