Aoife Connolly in action against Louth at the weekend.

WATCH: Westmeath star Connolly scores two-point '45

Aoife Connolly made her own little bit of history on Saturday when she became the first Westmeath LGFA player to score a two point '45 in an inter-county game.

The Garrycastle forward put in a player-of-the-match performance against Louth in Saturday's Leinster Championship clash in Ballinlough, scoring 1-9 during her side's comprehensive 3-17 to 1-11 victory. Her final tally included Westmeath's first ever two-point '45.

She is only the third LGFA player to score a two-point '45 since the rule was introduced in 2020.

Next up for Connolly and her teammates is a Leinster semi-final encounter against Wexford on Sunday next.
