Watch out! Local photographer captures stunning nature photo over Lough Ennell

Well-known Mullingar photographer John McCauley has taken scores of breathtaking nature photos over the years, but few are quite as spectacular as the latest addition to his collection.

While out at Lough Ennell last Tuesday evening, John photographed a tern just as they were about to dine on a mayfly for tea.

Terns return to Lough Ennell every spring after wintering in south Africa.
