Williams stars in terrific Coláiste Mhuire victory

CONOR WILLIAMS’ goal with the last puck of the game sealed the deal for Mullingar's Coláiste Mhuire as they came from a goal down to be crowned first year Leinster hurling champions in today's final in Bray, Co Wicklow.

The Mullingar side overcame Wexford CBS in dramatic fashion. Williams' strike put the icing on the cake of a magnificent, clinical individual performance as he finished with 1-11, 1-10 of which coming from placed balls, while he was aided by stellar second-half showings from Tomas Brennan and Hugo Corroon.

The Mullingar side found themselves a goal adrift at half-time, 1-5 to 0-5, but they produced a wonderful second half display to emerge victorious. Ryan McNamee grabbed a goal five minutes from the end, while their second major came from Williams, whose long-range free ended up in the net.

There were joyous scenes as the Mullingar side celebrated a terrific victory and they have overcome Offaly and Wexford opposition en route to this noteworthy success.
