Ukraine group join Tidy Towns for cleanup as their thank-you

On Sunday week last, Mullingar Tidy Towns volunteers welcomed members of the Ukraine community who had contacted them to offer any assistance they could as a thank-you to the people of Mullingar who have welcomed them to the town in the last year.

Obi Ojimadu, a local coordinator with the Ukraine community, gathered a 40-strong group to help clean up along the Royal Canal from Dublin Bridge to Grange Bridge and back.

Historian and member of Mullingar Tidy Towns, Jason McKevitt, spoke to the group at the 1916 monument and gave a brief history lesson of the town.
