Women ‘Finding Balance in Business with Positivity and Style’

More than 100 women from Counties Westmeath, Longford and Leitrim met last week for an event with the theme ‘Finding Balance in Business with Positivity and Style’.

They were at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon to attend a Tri County Women in Business event on Wednesday May 31.

Guest speakers included Maria Carton, professional style advisor from Roscommon, and Lorna Doorley from Your Sacred Space, Leitrim (a women’s wellbeing holistic therapist).

The event was organised jointly by the Local Enterprise Offices of Westmeath, Longford and Leitrim, with the aim of further developing relationships within the Women in Business Network in the counties involved.

Ms Carton provided a fashion master class to help businesswomen feel good about themselves at every stage of life.

She provided useful tips on how to elevate personal style, be a savvy shopper and how to build a great wardrobe of clothes.

Ms Doorley shared personal experience of her battle with negative body image and how she finally broke free from repeated failed diets to a life of freedom and joy by focusing on the person within and what lay beneath.

She gave guidance and suggestions on tuning out the inner critic and turning up the volume on your own inner cheerleader.

They also spoke about growing successful businesses.

The networking part of the event was hosted by the MC, Pat Murphy from Longford, and provided attendees with an opportunity to swap stories of their businesses and to socialise.
