Joe Sheridan Memorial 5k funds handed over to SVP

Laura and Michael Gannon, on behalf of the Sheridan family, presented the proceeds of the Joe Sheridan Memorial 5k run to the St Vincent de Paul in Mullingar last week.

Laura said: “We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every person who donated online and came to the Joe Sheridan Memorial 5k fun run fundraiser in aid of SVP.

It really lifted our hearts to witness the kindness and generosity of people. It was unbelievable the crowds of people that turned up, from old friends to neighbours and colleagues of Joe.

“We are delighted to hand over €10,375 raised to SVP Mullingar to help them continue their critical work helping those in need in these tough times. We hope to make it an annual event as we would be delighted to continue to help those who are struggling in Joe’s honour. We really appreciate the help and support of everyone who got involved.”

Martin Shaw was delighted to receive the proceeds of the Joe Sheridan Memorial run on behalf of the local St Vincent de Paul, and he thanked the people of Mullingar for their generosity.

“It was a great day at Belvedere and was wonderful to see everyone come out to help remember Joe Sheridan and supporting SVP,” he said.

“SVP need the support now more than ever and volunteers are always welcome and needed, and if anyone wishes to give some of their time to help out those in need in our community, volunteer forms are available at SVP Bishop Gate Street, Mullingar.”
