Westmeath Local Development Strategy 2023

Westmeath Community Development, in conjunction with Westmeath Local Community Development Committee, have prepared a draft of the Westmeath Local Development Strategy for the next LEADER Programme, 2023-2027.

LEADER supports initiatives that seek to address locally identified needs and challenges under a number of defined themes.

For LEADER 2023-2027, the themes are:

• Economic Development and Job Creation

• Rural Infrastructure and Social Inclusion

• Sustainable Development of Rural Environment and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaption.

The draft strategy has been prepared in line with the above themes, the area profile, and taking account of the views and opinions expressed during the initial consultation process.

The draft strategy is available to view through on the WCD website at www.westcd.ie.

Views and comments on the draft are welcome and should be submitted to WCD LEADER Team, email: leader@westcd.ie by July 3.
