Westmeath Woodie’s raise €12,500 for 2023 Heroes Campaign

Woodie’s Mullingar and Woodie’s Athlone celebrated the wrap-up of the ninth annual Woodie’s Heroes campaign this week having reached more than €12,500 for their charities.

Woodie’s Mullingar raised €6,506 and Woodie’s Athlone €6,224, with help from customers, colleagues and suppliers for four children’s charities. One hundred per cent of funds raised will be divided equally among ISPCC Childline, Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Down Syndrome Ireland, and Make-A-Wish Ireland.

Woodie’s Heroes was established in 2015 and has raised €3 million for Irish children’s charities; this year’s fundraising is expected to raise that figure close to €3.5 million.

Customers donated throughout the campaign by adding donations at the till, online at woodies.ie or by text.

The teams at Woodie’s Mullingar and Athlone were delighted with the generosity and support shown to them during the campaign by their communities and wish to extend thanks to everyone who donated.

After four weeks of fundraising, they presented the cheques this week.
