St Joseph’s students celebrate Leaving Cert results

There was a great air of excitement as the students of St Joseph’s, Rochfortbridge, gathered at the school last Friday to celebrate their Leaving Certificate results.

"They were an exceptional year group in every way and we were proud of them even before they received their results; however, what they achieved in their exams was above and beyond expectations and we are so happy for each and every one of them," said principal Margaret Cole.

The students were happy, relieved and eager to share their good news with the teaching staff in the vibrant and progressive school that is Rochfortbridge.

There was great anticipation for the first round of offers (today, Wednesday) and the students expressed confidence that they had achieved enough to get the courses they wished for.

At least a third of the teaching staff at St Joseph’s are past pupils and the school has a great tradition of keeping in touch with alumni and forging connections with them into the future to help current students with careers and guidance.

"We look forward to seeing what these bright young people achieve in the future and we will be watching their progression with interest and encouragement," Ms Cole said. "They know they can always touch base with us if they need anything. Once a student of Rochfortbridge, always a student of Rochfortbridge."
