Minor football manager, Eoghan Kevlihan will be joined by Joe Fallon and Ryan Jones on the management team.

Minor football manager unchanged

The Westmeath Minor football manager for next year remains Eoghan Kevlihan, St Loman’s, Mullingar, who had his first season in charge this year. He will be joined by former Westmeath football star, Joe Fallon, who has been added to the management team.

A four-man committee consisting of Barry Kelly, Peter Collins, Ollie Baker and Pat Reilly interviewed two candidates for the minor football manager’s position for next year.

Cathal Tighe (Tubberclair) and Eoghan Kevlihan were the two contenders and the committee recommended Kevlihan get a second term in charge.

The manager has changed some of his backroom team for 2024, and Joe Fallon (Athlone) and Ryan Jones (St Loman’s, Mullingar) are now involved as selectors/coaches.

“We were very impressed with Cathal Tighe and we certainly are going to get him involved with development squads,” said Mr Kelly.

Aidan Walsh (St Joseph’s) and Christy Keenan (Loughnavalley) proposed and seconded the management team.
