Henshaw a doubt for Scotland showdown

Robbie Henshaw's involvement in this Saturday's Rugby World Cup meeting with Scotland is doubtful due to a niggly injury.

"Robbie has a bit of a niggle and we're finding out about that today," Ireland forwards coach Paul O'Connell said at a press conference this morning.

"I'm sure there'll be some information on that tomorrow."

Henshaw's game time in the World Cup has been limited so far and it would be a major disappointment if the Athlone man missed out on the Scotland clash altogether.

Several fans from the Athlone area are travelling to Paris for the Scotland match, with some planning to stay on in France for what they hope will be a quarter-final involving Ireland.

Ireland will guarantee qualification for the knock-out stages if they beat or draw with Scotland in their last Pool B game. Even a defeat, provided Ireland secure a bonus point for losing by seven points or less, would see Andy Farrell's men progress.

The winner of Pool B will face the runner-up in Pool A (the group containing hosts France and New Zealand) in the quarter-finals.

Saturday's match at Stade de France kicks off at 8pm Irish time, with the Ireland team due to be named tomorrow (Thursday).
