Kinnegad artist launches first solo exhibition this week

Justina McKeogh launches her exhibition ‘My Painting Journey’ at the Atrium, Mullingar County Buildings tomorrow, Thursday October 5, at 6pm.

The Westmeath Arts Office is supporting Justina McKeogh, who is from Kinnegad, to launch her first solo art exhibition, which will run until October 13.

As a child, Justina had a love of colouring and crafting, and as an adult she rediscovered her love for art after attending an evening class in Mullingar Community College.

She said painting is “very therapeutic and relaxing”, and “you can never underestimate the benefits of art and creating for all ages”.

The exhibition will show more than 50 artworks she completed over the last 10 years, in acrylics, watercolour, oils and mixed media.

Justina is inspired by the everyday world and surroundings we can take for granted.

The official opening is tomorrow, Thursday October 5, 6-7.30pm. Light refreshments will be served, and all are welcome.
