'Funny taste' of water at Dublin Bridge refill station

The drinking water refill station at the Dublin Road, Mullingar, has had a “funny taste”, according to Cllr Hazel Smyth.

Speaking at the October meeting of the Municipal Council she urged that this be examined as “it is important that the water is drinkable”.

She was told that the refill stations are fed directly from the water mains and subject to the same testing standards as all water consumed by the public in the area.

The matter has been referred to the council’s environment section.
