Westmeath GAA's Quid Game fundraiser a huge success

The innovative Quid Game fundraiser in the Mullingar Park Hotel was a huge success raising in the region of €160,000 for Westmeath GAA.

Speaking at the event, County Board chairman Frank Mescall said that the event exceeded everyone’s expectations.

“This is an innovative and unique fundraiser. Westmeath GAA and Club Iarmhí have joined forces for the first time; we will learn from it and go from strength to strength.

“A big thanks to Matt and Josephine of the Mullingar Park Hotel, the only venue in the county that could have hosted this event.”

Mr Mescall also thanked the clubs, sponsors and contestants for getting involved, noting they exceeded the target in terms of what was it thought Westmeath could raise.

Shandonagh GAA's contestant Gareth Carr won his club €10,000 after seeing off the challenge of Garrycastle's Karl Henson in the final round.
