St Loman’s quiz a huge success

The Chambers Bar was packed to the rafters last Friday night as the underage section of St Loman's, Mullingar held a table quiz to raise funds for equipment and lighting for the club's various teams ahead of next season. Hosts Kevin Dunleavy and Niall Dunne scrambled for extra tables and seating to cater for the huge number of people who poured through the doors to support the event. The final tally raised was in excess of €4,000, which is an extraordinary amount and will greatly benefit all the young boys and girls in the club.

The club would like to extend a special word of thanks to the organising committee comprising Garry Penrose, Brian Murphy, David Savage, Rodney Farry, Clifford Flynn and Damian Concannon; to the brilliantly-entertaining quizmaster Willie Geraghty and his sidekick MC on the night Brian Murphy and to the markers Olive Hickey and Niamh Murphy. It was a fantastic team effort with all the underage coaches promoting it and the club spirit on display was heartwarming.

The club would also like to acknowledge the huge number of local people and businesses who kindly sponsored prizes for the raffle, including: Aspire Training, Bloomfield Hotel, Boots, the Westmeath Examiner, Wilfs, Presents, Kilmurrays, Cool Beans Coffee, The Foot Care Clinic, KC Sports, The Fish Shop, The Chemist Warehouse, TeenKix, John Gavin & Co, The Greville Arms, Olivia’s Physical Therapy Room, Murtagh's Pharmacy Athboy, Apache Pizza, Pitta Pit, Buckley’s Centra Millmount, Mac DJs Sound and Lighting, Belvedere Hills Nursery and Montessori, Divine Fitness, Custom Homeworx, David Reynolds Electrical Grow and Bloom with Michelle, and Sensory Clothing.
