Teenage Wasteland Podcast: Johnny Cronin (l) and Will Russell (r) chatting to film director and producer Terry McMahon.

Full house for second instalment of Teenage Wasteland podcast live

Two artists from two very different backgrounds were the guests for the second instalment of Teenage Wasteland Podcast live, which took place last night upstairs in Canton Castey's, Mullingar.

Film director Terry McMahon talked about his childhood in Mullingar, the first gig he ever attended, Joe Dolan, and the success of his film, Patrick's Day.

Justin Jon Ryan of The Blizzards fame, discussed the madness of supporting the likes of Oasis and AC/DC, and the London Irish music scene.

The podcast, produced by Mick Cronin, and presented by singer songwriter Johnny Cronin and Will Russell of Hot Press Magazine, focuses on the best music in the world – the music of our teenage years.

It sees guests compile their all-time favourite records, a sizeable proportion of them are the albums they listened to as a teenager, and how it influenced their future selves.

Records featuring on the turntable last night included tunes from Bob Marley, Elvis, U2 and Nina Simone, but to find out who chose what, you will have to listen to the podcast which will is available on Spotify.

The live event was supported by Westmeath Arts and Creative Ireland.
