Mullingar Concert Band have put together a programme of Christmas favourites for their upcoming concert.

Mullingar Concert Band to delight audience with classic seasonal repertoire

With a programme of seasonal favourites lined up, Mullingar Concert Band’s upcoming Christmas concert in Bloomfield House Hotel on Wednesday December 6 is sure to go down a treat.

Under the baton of conductor and great friend of the Mullingar Concert Band, Vincent Dolan, the musicians are looking forward to performing the likes of Santa Baby, The Snowman, Sleigh Ride and Fairytale of New York, as well as favourite carols.

It sounds like a great way to ease in to the Christmas spirit.

The band will be joined on the night by special guest vocalists Maria Magee, soprano, and John Smyth, tenor.

Accompanying John and Maria will be Mullingar Town Band Junior Singers. Also performing will be Blasta Brass, the Concert Band’s ‘gig band’, whose reputation as an engaging and fun ensemble continues to grow.

There will be a raffle on the night and plenty of great prizes to be won.

Mullingar Concert Band was launched in autumn 2021 with the aim of encouraging adult musicians of varying standards to join together to play music, learn, socialise and have fun. It is a part of, but also a natural extension of Mullingar Town Band and many of the members had previously played with them over the years.

Tickets (€10) for the concert are available from members or via online and phone: mullingartownband1879@gmail.com; 086 199 9497. Doors open from 7pm and the concert is at 7.30pm.
