Westmeath businesswomen attend Tri-County networking event

A group of local businesswomen attended the final Tri County networking event of 2023.

The even in Longford Rugby Club on December 11 attracted over 60 female business owners from Westmeath, Longford and Leitrim.

The event was opened by Pat Murphy – chairperson of the Tri County Women in Business Network. Later in the evening Pat also facilitated a networking session providing attendees with the opportunity to meet with like-minded women in business and to share ideas and experiences.

One of the highlights of the evening was the local business showcase featuring three businesses, one from each of the three participating counties. LEO Longford was represented by Ciara Murphy from ebroadband, LEO Leitrim was represented by Caroline Ward from Caz Cards and LEO Westmeath was represented by Eibhlin Fitzpatrick from The Refill Mill.

The businesses shared their story, from start-up to the present day. They spoke freely about the challenges and opportunities they faced in building and sustaining their business.

The event concluded with a wind down session delivered by Elaine Collins-Prevost and Karen Collins from Soul Sisters in Longford and included a short meditation using sound baths. They also focused on the breath and its importance as a relaxation and calming tool, particularly during this festive period.

The Women in Business Network look forward to a new calendar of events for 2024 with our first event on March 8 to celebrate International Women’s Day.
