A large crowd gathered in the village to bless the crib for this year’s Christmas season.

Blessing of the crib in Ballinagore

The community of Ballinagore turned out in large numbers for the blessing of the crib on Sunday, December 10, an event that made a welcome return following a hiatus.

Fr Barry Condron blessed the crib and spirits were high thanks to the festive music provided by the young musicians and singers.

Refreshments were served in the Bodhrán following the ceremony, and Santa made an appearance, much to the delight of all the young children.

Christmas cheer was evident around the village on Sunday and that was a testament to the hard work put in by all on the Ballinagore Tidy Towns committee, who organised the event.
