Local teen models for Gucci in Milan

A 6th Year Athlone student took to the catwalk in Milan last week for the famous GUCCI brand.

Sonny Drummond (18), son of Blaise Drummond and Síabhra Durcan, from Tang, Ballymahon, took part in the GUCCI Fall Winter 2024 show at the legendary Milan Fashion Week on Friday.

The GUCCI show, with designer Sabato de Sarno, kicked off the week-long fashion event in a city synonymous with style.

Sonny, an Athlone Community College student, made his modelling debut to much publicity in December 2022 when he took part in the Christian Dior Autumn 2023 collection show in front of the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

His stunning ascent through the world of modelling began in somewhat more low-key circumstances after he was scouted by a talent agent at the Longitude Music Festival in Dublin.
