New course at SWEETS Kilbeggan to help women boost their confidence

A new course at SWEETS Kilbeggan aims to help any woman who wants and needs the support to build their confidence and motivate them to learn new and essential skills.

The ‘Bespoke Women’s Development Course’ is fully funded by the Westmeath Local Community Development Committee under the Rural Development LEADER Programme 2014-2022.

It provides an opportunity for local women to gain free access to a network of other women and the information and support they need to aid their confidence and personal development, learn essential back to work skills, digital skills, money management and team building.

The programme will provide tried and tested strategies to encourage and motivate women to be a more empowered version of themselves.

SWEETS is a vital source of key information and support for the local community and this new nine-week course will a starting point to motivate and encourage women in the area to develop themselves to their full potential.

The main topics on the course are: Focus on personal development and goal setting; Team building; Presentation and interview skills; Improving communication and confidence building; Digital skills; Developing a plan for self- progression; Money management and budgeting.

Participants will meet, connect with and share their ideas and progress with other like-minded women in the area, while gaining information from the expert course provider.

A spokesperson for SWEETS said: “We aim to provide a professional information, education and training service to the people of south Westmeath, with a special emphasis on the marginalised in our community so that they may be empowered to achieve their potential in today’s society.”
