Mullingar Vocational School class of 1974-79 holding 50th anniversary reunion

Following the success of their reunion in 2022, the class of 1974-1979 from the then Mullingar Vocational School are holding a 50th anniversary get-together in June.

The reunion with start with a Mass by Fr Kiernan followed by a meal in the Annebrook House Hotel with music by Ray Dolan.

Organiser Caroline Egan told the Westmeath Examiner that the event is not confined to the class of 1974-79.

“Anyone who was a pupil in the school during the 1970s is welcome to attend. There are a limited amount of tickets, so if anyone would like to go they should get in touch.”

Caroline set up a Facebook group before the pandemic with the aim of organising a reunion. This was eventually held in the summer of 2022 in Clarke's with around 60 former pupils and teachers attending. The reunion was such a hit, that many of those who went are still in touch and meet up regularly.

“It's been a really great social outlet for people,” Caroline says.
