Darius Frim and Lorcan McLoughlin from 3rd class.The budding actors from St Mary's National School in Rathowen wowed the large crowd that attended Mullingar Arts Centre last Wednesday evening for their performance of the musical Oliver.
Principal David Morgan told the Westmeath Examiner that “everyone was delighted with the show”.
“It was fantastic. A huge amount of work went into it. Massive credit must go to the team in the arts centre led by Sean Lynch for facilitating the performance. Our own staff in the school were brilliant too. We are a small school and we needed all hands on deck to ensure things went well.
“Most importantly, the children were wonderful. They put in a huge amount of work and it is great that it was a such huge success.
“There was a really good turnout from a small village. A lot of tickets were sold to family members and parents and we'd like to acknowledge their support too.”
