Bright start but cloudy later with drizzle

Today will start off sunny, then become cloudier through the afternoon with patchy light rain, drizzle and mist developing over the western half of the country. Temperatures steadily rising to 9 to 11 degrees by evening. Light winds increasing moderate to fresh southerly through the day.

Patches of light rain, drizzle and mist, most frequent in the west and northwest tonight. Overnight temperatures unchanged at between 10 and 11 degrees with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong at times in the west and northwest.

A mostly dull day tomorrow, Friday, with patchy rain, drizzle and mist continuing. Towards the evening, the rain will turn more persistent in the west and northwest. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Continuing dull and misty on Friday night with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Temperatures of 5 or 6 degrees in the north and 9 or 10 degrees in the south, winds will be mostly moderate south west to west.

A mostly dull day on Saturday with rain and drizzle. Becoming clearer and colder in the north during the afternoon with isolated showers. Highest temperatures of 10 to12 degrees, in light to moderate westerly winds.

Further rain and drizzle on Saturday night. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.

Rain and drizzle on Sunday becoming patchier from the south through the day with some sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh and gusty west to southwest winds.

Monday sees very little change, rather cloudy with patchy drizzle giving way to more persistent rain from the north later.

Little change into the start of next week. Rain and drizzle at times, mainly over the western half of the country.
