Doubling the Delvin delight

Delvin Book Fest takes place this year once again over the May bank holiday. Delvin has become the biggest book fair in the country, thanks to the hard-working committee who stick to their task, year in year out.

Visitors to the village this year are in for an extra treat – not only will both locals and visitors be able to enjoy the pleasure of perusing thousands of books, but there will be brilliant Irish music coming from every corner of the village.

‘A Warm-up for Wexford’, (and if you don’t ‘get it’, ask someone who was in Mullingar last year) is what the small sub-committee has labelled the weekend of traditional music, ballads, dancing, and whatever you’re having yourself!

Once again, the committee are indebted to Thomas Potterton for making the sales yard available for parking. And speaking of parking; the committee have come up with the novel idea of subsidising taxi runs for the weekend. So, you can leave your own wheels and let someone else do the driving.

DSC is making its ground available for caravans and motor-homes… so Delvin will be like home away from home… only better.
