Cash prizes for St Patrick's parade in Castlepollard

The North Westmeath St Patrick’s Day Parade committee have announced that the 2024 parade takes place at 5pm in Castlepollard.

The theme this year is ‘Westmeath Through the Ages’ and entry is free; registration is on the day from 4.15pm on Green Street.

This year the committee are encouraging as many schools, clubs, groups and businesses as possible to take part.

There will be eight award categories: Best School, Best Environmental, Best Vintage, Best Business, Most Topical, Funniest Entrant and Best Club, as well as Best Novelty Act. There will also be a special Judges Award.

The committee are also hoping to increase the number of entrants this year and have five cash prizes up for grabs: first place €500, second €300, third €200, fourth €150 and fifth €100.

This year’s parade promises to build upon the success of 2023 and will be a great way for families to see out St Patrick’s Day 2024.
