St Malachy’s captain Morgan Gavigan receives the Peter Geraghty Cup from Westmeath GAA chairman Frank Mescall after last year’s intermediate football final.

St Malachy’s prepare to celebrate 60th anniversary

As part of what is a celebratory weekend, St Malachy’s GAA club is inviting everyone in the community to their 60th Anniversary Mass on Friday, February 16, in the Castletown Geoghegan GAA complex at 8pm.

The club would love to see as many members and players, past and present, and all from the community there to mark the momentous occasion for the club. There will be refreshments and a catch-up afterwards.

And the club will be continuing the celebrations on Saturday, February 17, at their dinner dance in the Bloomfield House Hotel. Tickets for the dinner dance are €50 and available for purchase on Thursday evening from 7.00 to 7:30 in the park or by contacting the club’s social media pages.

The fact that St Malachy’s won last year’s Westmeath intermediate football title adds another reason for celebration and the Peter Geraghty Cup will surely be on display on Saturday night.

St Malachy’s GAA is looking forward to what is a proud occasion and is anticipating big interest in the club’s special weekend.
