Burke impressed by Kinnegad projects

Minister Peter Burke took time in Kinnegad this week to review a number of projects that are ongoing.

He visited the site of the new town park, the new Primary Care Centre and the Centre for Independent Living.

“It was great to get the chance to see the real progress in Kinnegad with the demolition work started in the Town Park and work getting underway there to provide a much-needed amenity. I know the local community have made strong submissions on what they want to see in their local park and this will be a fantastic resource for all in Kinnegad.

“The Centre for Independent Living is celebrating 25 years and I know they offer a great service to empower those with disabilities to live independent lives. It was great to link in with their service and meet the staff, secretary Lorna Leech and administrator Mary Mooney.

“The extension of the impressive Primary Care Centre, which is at an advanced stage will be a tremendous asset to Kinnegad and will help to attract and retain health professionals to the town and build on the accessibility which is so important when we need to access the health service."
