Collentine’s wants fleadh signs reused

Signs originally erected for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann should now be used to highlight other areas of Mullingar, Cllr Bill Collentine proposed at the February meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.

The response from the officials to his suggestion stated that the district will engage with the Tourism Officer to see if the signs can be repurposed with images promoting Mullingar.

Roundabout

At the same meeting, a request that the Municipal District install a yellow box for the first entrance to Brookfield at the hospital roundabout elicited a positive response. “This will be installed in the next four weeks,” was the reply furnished to Cllr Collentine.

Brookfield

At the same meeting, Cllr Collentine requested that the district replace the existing decayed fencing or sow trees in front of the Brookfield houses opposite St Finian’s College. The response provided stated that the district will examine the location to determine what trees would be suitable for planting there.

Chestnut Drive

A request by Cllr Collentine that the district cut back and prune trees at Chestnut Drive elicited an assurance that the work will be carried out in the next four weeks.
