Ballycomoyle ladies celebrate junior and minor success
The Ballycomoyle GAA dinner dance took place on February 17 in the Castle Varagh Hotel, Castlepollard.
The occasion was a celebration of the success of the Ballycomoyle ladies in junior 'B' and minor grades, while it also honoured the successful Westmeath and Leinster Scór ballad group winners.
On the evening, Larry Masterson was officially announced as the club's new president. Club chairman Sean Daly said it was a real privilege giving Larry this title and all involved with the Ballycomoyle club are delighted with the presentation.
The organising committee made the evening a huge success and thanks has been expressed to all involved. The hard work was very much appreciated by everyone in the club.
The Westmeath GAA Ladies chairperson Geraldine Giles was acknowledged for attending and presenting the medals to the two county winning championship teams, junior and minor.
Thanks was also expressed to the Westmeath Scór na Nóg chairperson Olive Leonfor attending to present the county and Leinster ballad group champions with their awards. The family of the late Robbie Cooney was acknowledged, especially Robbie's brother Patrick and girlfriend Ali for presenting the Bo Jackson Robert Cooney Memorial Trophy to Louise Farrelly on behalf of the mothers and others football team.
A huge thanks to the band Switch for a fantastic night of music.

Finally the loyal supporters of Ballycomoyle GAA Club who came along to make the dinner dance such a huge success were thanked. Music on the night was provided by the fabulous Switch band.
