Following a successful first cars and coffee meet-up in Streete Parish Park on Sunday 18th last, the organisers said the dust has now settled on what was a fantastic morning. “We had a great turnout of 147 vehicles from various parts of the country making their way to Streete, some for the first time”.
The event, organised by members of Streete Vintage Club, to raise funds to replace the now ageing defibrillator at the community centre, will also benefit the Irish Road Victims Association.
Kevin Brady, chairman, said: “We had a great day all round and I want to thank club members Eamonn Campbell and Thomas Parker for coming up with the idea, the park committee for supporting and everyone for attending and donating.
“The event raised €2500, which will be presented shortly.
“The phone continues to ring with calls from enthusiasts and spectators wanting to know when it will be on again.”
The good news, Eamonn and Thomas plan to hold the next cars and coffee on May 26.
“That will kick-start the run-up to our annual vintage show, which takes place on June 30.”
