Ronan Leonard to launch ‘Slips, Trips and Falls’ EP at Kells concert

Singer-songwriter Ronan Leonard launches his latest EP ‘Slips, Trips and Falls’ at a concert in the BOOK MARKet, Kells, next month.

Ronan is a highly accomplished singer-songwriter; he has toured extensively throughout Europe, headlining shows and supporting a succession of musicians including Christy Dignam, Slim Whitman, Billy Joe Spears, Mick Hanley, Freddy White and Aslan.

He has released five studio albums working with legends such as PJ Curtis, Dave Keary and Garvan Gallagher, and received extensive radio airplay including on shows presented by RTÉ 1’s Larry Gogan, Ronan Collins, John Creedon.

He also featured on ‘Acoustic Couch’ on the Pat Kenny show and ‘Open House’ on RTÉ 1 TV.

At the Kells event, Ronan will be playing with Garvan Gallagher, Stuart Crampton, and Jason Fox

Garvan Gallagher is a bass guitarist and double bass player. He’s contributed to many recordings as a player and producer, most notably Irish singer Mary Black, the soundtrack of Neil Jordan’s first film, Angel, and orchestral work including Liam O’Flynn’s The Brendan Voyage, plus concerts with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra.

His recording work includes sessions for Carole King, Nancy Griffith, Bobby Whitlock, Philip Donnelly and John Prine. Garvan was also musical director of the popular RTÉ children’s puppet series Bosco, and wrote and recorded more than 200 songs for the series.

Stuart Crampton was a highly regarded and popular guitar and piano teacher for 23 years in Greystones, nine of those in Greystone Studios. After an initial handwritten flyer drop, he never needed to advertise again, and has relied solely on word of mouth to build a music empire. Stuart and Val Kiernan formed a band called Driftwood.

Jason Fox is a brilliant drummer and percussionist who has worked with Ronan and Garvan many times over the years. Jason is the drummer with Zooropa, Dublin’s premier U2 tribute band.

Ronan Leonard and Friends is at The BOOK MARKet, 11 Market Street, Townparks, Kells, A82 YR84, on Sunday 9 March, 7.30-10.30pm.
