Westmeath aiming to avenge last year's defeat by Antrim

Westmeath senior hurling manager Joe Fortune has named his team to face Antrim in a crucial Division 1B game, in the Allianz Hurling League, tomorrow (Saturday) at TEG Cusack Park, Mullingar (3.30pm).

Robbie Greville will partner Shane McGovern at midfield for the big game, with Kevin Regan lining out at centre back and the experienced Tommy 'Jogger' Doyle at full back. In attack, David Williams leads the line at number 11 having produced some fine performances to date, while Killian Doyle lines out at corner forward and Niall Mitchell is selected at wing forward.

Westmeath and Antrim sit bottom of the table after three rounds, but Westmeath have produced some positive displays against Limerick and Tipperary which augurs well for Saturday's encounter. Throw-in at TEG Cusack Park is at 3.30pm.

Last year Antrim dominated in Mullingar to record a 4-24 to 1-19 victory and relegate Westmeath to the Joe McDonagh Cup. When the sides met in the league in 2019, Westmeath recorded a 1-17 to 1-15 win in Belfast.
