Breaking the bank for brekkie!

We're big fans in our office of the traditional Full Irish Breakfast - but the cost of living increases have been nudging the prices upwards for the past few years.

Official confirmation of that has come in an interesting graphic released this week by the Central Statistics Office, which reveals that the cost of ingredients has gone up by 2.3 per cent in the past year.

Some items have fallen in price - butter, milk and bread - but sausages, rashers, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and teabags have all got dearer.

Mind you, the CSO forgot to add in the baked beans and hash browns!
