Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns invite to Easter Breakfast at the Barn

The Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns Committee have been busy lately as they focus on the key categories of biodiversity and sustainability. Funding was successfully sourced from Community Foundation for Ireland for the Community Biodiversity Action Plan, which Nuala Madigan, CEO of Irish Peatland Conservation Council, compiled after an extensive biodiversity survey of the village. That highlighted the extent of what needs to be looked after on our doorstep.

The Tidy Towns subcommittee, Tyrrellspass Sustainable Energy Community, have also completed their Energy Master Plan, and both plans will be launched at the Earth Day event on April 19 at 6pm at the GAA Pavilion.

Volunteers will also be out for the An Taisce Spring Clean community litter pick on Saturday April 13 at 9am, starting at the Castle.

A health assessment project is under way for the Molly Smullen river, a stream that feeds into the Brosna, and Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns are getting ready to host other events and activities during the year.

Follow them on Facebook, where their page is starting to gain traction. New members are always welcome to join the group.

Come join us on Easter Sunday morning for a Breakfast at the Barn, Tyrrellspass, at 10am. €10pp. Donated by David Smyth and proceeds to Tyrrellspass Tidy Towns.
