Delvin St Patrick’s Parade Committee extend their ‘heartfelt thanks’

David Jones, chairman of the Delvin St Patrick’s Parade Committee, says the Delvin Parade, held on bank holiday Monday, March 18, was “a resounding success”.

That success was made possible through the collaboration and support of many individuals and organisations, said Mr Jones, and he extended his deepest gratitude to everyone involved.

He had a “special note of thanks for the generous sponsors of the parade, whose contributions played an indispensable role in bringing this year’s festivities to life”.

He also commended the local gardaí for their diligent efforts in ensuring the safety and security of all attendees.

The promotion of the parade and the event itself were community-wide efforts, and Mr Jones is grateful to everyone who used their platforms to spread the word about the event.

He said: “The photographers and volunteers who dedicated their time and skills on the day of the parade captured the magic of the celebration and kept the event running smoothly, so thank you to them, and also thanks to Stuart from the Delvin village website.”

He acknowledged the input of Delvin GAA Club for their valuable assistance in working alongside the gardaí to manage traffic, which “ensured that the parade procession was a seamless and enjoyable experience for all”.

“The creativity and enthusiasm of all the individuals and groups who entered floats and decorated their windows are applauded. These vibrant displays were essential to the festive atmosphere of the parade and showcased the community spirit of Delvin.”

Mr Jones said he and his colleagues on the committee also extend a special thank-you to Energia Renewables and the Murphy family of Bracklyn Estate for “their significant financial support, which enhanced the event’s scale and success”.

“Lastly, heartfelt appreciation to Westmeath County Council and the PPN Network for their unwavering support and contributions to the Delvin St Patrick’s Parade.

“The energy and joy of the Delvin community and supporters were definitely on display during this year’s parade, and I am overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of all who contributed to making the event such a great day after a four-year break from the parade.

“This celebration is a testament to the vibrant spirit of Delvin, and I am proud to be a part of such an incredible community.”

The Delvin St Patrick’s Parade Committee are already looking forward to continuing the parade tradition and hope to see even more participants and spectators in the years to come.
