Buckley cousins meet up

Joseph Buckley (died 1949) and his wife Josephine (née Shaw, d 1967) raised four children in Rosa Villa, Harbour Street, Mullingar, all of whom went on to be well known in the local community.

They were: Joe (d 1983), an engineer who married Berna (née O’Brien, d 2002) and they lived on the Lynn Road; Des (d 2002), a teacher who married Pearlie (née Kane, d 1974) and they lived on the Longford Road; Tim (d 1977), a chemist who married Joan (née Kirwan) and they lived in Bray; and Rosaleen (d 1995), a nurse who married Paddy Corroon and they lived in The Downs.

Most of the four Buckleys’ sons and daughters met up for a nostalgic reunion in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth last Saturday afternoon.
