Mullingar dancer wins Globe at world championships
Faye Clarke from Lynn Cross was third in the U15 girls at Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne, the world Irish dance championships, at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow.
Competing over two days in March as one of 200 elite dancers from all over the world, Faye receive a coveted Globe and is thrilled to be bringing it home to Mullingar.
A pupil of the Carson Academy, Mullingar, Faye received her first world medal last year in Montreal, when she was 19th, and was crowned All Scotland champion last October. She followed that with a Leinster title in November.
Faye’s story is one of inspiration and encouragement for any dancer, said her tutor, Fiona Gallagher.
A second year pupil in st Finian’s College, Faye combines a busy academic schedule with a strenuous dance regime.
