TUS Athlone to host CAO Open Evening

HUNDREDS of eager prospective students are anticipated to visit Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), Athlone Campus, on Wednesday for its CAO Open Evening.

Taking place Wednesday, April 17, from 6-8pm in the university’s sports arena, the event aims to provide Leaving Certificate and mature students with valuable insights into the academic and extracurricular offerings at TUS Athlone.

Attendees can expect an array of activities designed to showcase the university's vibrant community and exceptional facilities.

From interactive demos to guided campus tours led by current students, the TUS Athlone CAO Open Evening promises an immersive experience for all visitors.

TUS Student Recruitment Officer Claire Connor expressed enthusiasm about the event, emphasising the diverse range of courses and opportunities available at TUS Athlone.

"We're excited to welcome prospective students and their families to our campus," she said. “This open evening is an ideal opportunity for attendees to explore our courses, meet lecturers and students, and get a feel for life at TUS in Athlone."

In addition to informative sessions with faculty members and current students and campus tours, the open evening will feature engaging activities such as culinary challenges and discussions about food sustainability.

Attendees will also have the chance to see nutrition demos aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and participate in psychology experiments.

Registration for the open evening is currently open, with attendees automatically entered into a draw to win vouchers for Athlone Towncentre shopping center.

Additionally, each attendee will receive a complimentary TUS goodie bag filled with university merchandise.
