Bailiú fun for all the family

Sunday May 5 will be a day of fun for all the family at Mullingar Arts Centre with circus, storytelling, arts and crafts.

Highlighting the creative talents of Westmeath artists is part of the mission for Bailiú festival and this line-up is no exception.

Symmetry Circus perform their new show What’s Watt?!, a show for all ages featuring acrobatics, hula hooping, unicycle, escapology, juggling and lots of laugh out loud comedy.

Maria Corcoran and Aoife Raleigh have studied science and engineering respectively and they created Symmetry Circus to develop work which explores the intersection of art science and the beauty of the natural world.

Local storyteller Paul Timoney will bring his signature blend of storytelling, humour and improvisation to keep everyone entertained, while author Terence Casey will delight audiences with his Animal Adventures (and maybe some actual animals!!)

Westmeath artist Mary Ahearne will also run an arts and crafts workshop for all ages where budding creatives can learn out to make a variety of Bealtaine related delights including beating drums, dancing brideógs and magic staffs.

Tickets are €10 for kids and their accompanying adults go free. More information and tickets at bailiufestival.com
